Wednesday update: 422 coronavirus cases confirmed in York and North Yorkshire

Another 110 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Wednesday, 18 August).
That takes the cumulative case total to 19,030 – giving an overall infection rate of 9,018.4 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days 674 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 25 (-3.6%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 318.9 new cases per 100,000 people (673 cases in the week to 14 August). That’s down from 345.5 in the previous seven days (729 cases in the week to 7 August).
The English national average is 305.8, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 368.7.
There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and two in the last seven days (as at 18 August).

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.
That leaves the total at 615 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last reported death was on 17 August.
There was one coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 8 August, and 18 in the previous seven days (down 11).
