Wednesday update: 19 more coronavirus cases in York

There were another 19 coronavirus cases confirmed in York today (Wednesday, 2 December).

That takes the cumulative total to 5,678 – giving an overall infection rate of 2,695.9 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days there have been 131 positive Covid-19 tests in York – a decrease of 125 (48.8%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 76.9 new cases per 100,000 people (162 cases in the week to 28 November). That’s down from 132.5 in the previous seven days (279 cases in the week to 21 November).

At the University of York, there were 40 individuals self isolating due to a positive Covid-19 test today. Since the previous update on Monday it has been notified of one new case.

At York St John University, there were seven people self isolating due to a positive test on Monday.

In North Yorkshire, there were 113 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 13,469 – an infection rate of 2,179.3 cases per 100K.

There are 739 cases in Ryedale (up five), 2,131 in Selby (up ten), 3,590 in Harrogate (up 25), 1,730 in Hambleton (up 13), 2,927 in Scarborough (up 37), 995 in Richmondshire (up 12) and 1,332 in Craven (up 11).

There was one more coronavirus-related death reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today. We don’t know whether they were at York Hospital or Scarborough.

It takes the total to 307.
