Tuesday update: York coronavirus rate falls back below national average

A further 105 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 23 November).

That takes the cumulative case total to 28,205 – giving an overall infection rate of 13,366.5 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 854 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 31 (-3.5%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 419.9 new cases per 100,000 people (886 cases in the week to 19 November). That’s up from 416.1 in the previous seven days (878 cases in the week to 12 November).

The English national average is 421, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 388.1.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and two in the last seven days (as at 23 November).

There are:

  • 23,575 in Harrogate (up 119) – 551.5
  • 11,634 in Hambleton (up 71) – 538.4

There were three coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That takes the total to 704 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were three coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 14 November, and 72 patients in hospital on 16 November. In the previous seven days, 48 Covid patients were admitted – up 13.
