Tuesday update: York coronavirus rate drops below the national average

Another 155 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 15 February).

That takes the cumulative case total to 53,295 – giving an overall infection rate of 25,256.9 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 1,087 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 660 (-37.8%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 614.2 new cases per 100,000 people (1,296 cases in the week to 11 February). That’s down from 959.7 in the previous seven days (2,025 cases in the week to 4 February).

The English national average is 625.3, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 495.1.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and three in the last seven days (as at 15 February).
