Tuesday update: York coronavirus case rate nearly double the national average
A further 112 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 29 June).
That takes the cumulative case total to 13,657 – giving an overall infection rate of 6,484.3 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days 690 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 372 (117.0%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 274.0 new cases per 100,000 people (577 cases in the week to 25 June). That’s up from 114.0 in the previous seven days (240 cases in the week to 18 June).
The English national average is 138.4, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 170.1.
There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and none in the last seven days (as at 29 June).

In North Yorkshire, there were 172 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 32,360 – an infection rate of 5,235.8 cases per 100K.
There are 1,997 cases in Ryedale (up ten), 5,652 in Selby (up 29), 8,372 in Harrogate (up 42), 4,463 in Hambleton (up 31), 5,879 in Scarborough (up 22), 2,876 in Richmondshire (up 14) and 3,121 in Craven (up 24).
There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.
That leaves the total at 593 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death was reported on 15 June.
There was one coronavirus patient admitted to the trust on 20 June, and six in the previous seven days (up three).
