Tuesday update: Three more coronavirus deaths in York NHS Trust – as case rate goes above 500 again

A further 122 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 19 July) – and there were three more deaths in the NHS Trust.

In terms of cases, that takes the cumulative total to 16,408 – giving an overall infection rate of 7,790.4 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 1,025 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 141 (16.0%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 504.7 new cases per 100,000 people (1,063 cases in the week to 16 July). That’s up from 417.3 in the previous seven days (879 cases in the week to 9 July).

The English national average is 473.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 582.4.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and one in the last seven days (as at 20 July).

In North Yorkshire, there were 433 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 39,986 – an infection rate of 6,469.7 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 2,360 cases in Ryedale (up 14) – case rate 276.3 per 100K
  • 6,766 in Selby (up 71) – 466.8
  • 10,452 in Harrogate (up 118) – 473.8
  • 5,768 in Hambleton (up 77) – 604.8
  • 7,208 in Scarborough (up 92) – 571.9
  • 3,596 in Richmondshire (up 30) – 614.2
  • 3,836 in Craven (up 31) – 588.

There were three coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That takes the total to 599 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were five coronavirus patients admitted to the trust on 11 July, and 24 in the previous seven days (up 11).
