Tuesday update: Slight fall in York coronavirus rate

Another 96 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 6 July).

That takes the cumulative case total to 14,499 – giving an overall infection rate of 6,884 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 842 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 152 (22%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 403.1 new cases per 100,000 people (849 cases in the week to 2 July). That’s up from 276.3 in the previous seven days (582 cases in the week to 25 June).

The English national average is 239.3, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 302.7.

There has been one coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and one in the last seven days (as at 6 July).

In North Yorkshire, there were 286 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 33,819 – an infection rate of 5,471.9 cases per 100K.

There are

  • 2,095 cases in Ryedale (up 15) – case rate 158.9 per 100K
  • 5,941 in Selby (up 59) – 238.4
  • 8,963 in Harrogate (up 108) – 276.7
  • 4,699 in Hambleton (up 33) – 223.8
  • 6,112 in Scarborough (up 30) – 210.6
  • 3,028 in Richmondshire (up 21) – 269.9
  • 3,267 in Craven (up 20) – 234.5.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 594 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death was reported on 5 July.

There were no coronavirus patients admitted to the trust on 27 June, and seven in the previous seven days (up one).
