Tuesday update: One area of York now has too few reported Covid cases to count

A further 105 coronavirus cases were reported in York today (Tuesday, 3 May) – including all the cases over the bank holiday weekend.

That takes the cumulative case total to 64,809 – giving an overall infection rate of 30,713.4 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 274 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 91 (-24.9%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 137.4 new cases per 100,000 people (290 cases). It was 200.9 on Thursday.

The English national average is 138.3, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 137.3.

There have been five coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days (up two). The total number of deaths in the city is 479.
