Tuesday update: One area of York now has a coronavirus case rate above 500

Another 104 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 19 October).

That takes the cumulative case total to 23,809 – giving an overall infection rate of 11,283.2 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 744 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 197 (36.0%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 323.2 new cases per 100,000 people (682 cases in the week to 15 October). That’s up from 251.2 in the previous seven days (530 cases in the week to 8 October).

The English national average is 436.2, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 491.1.

There was one coronavirus death in the City of York Council area reported today, and four in the last seven days (as at 19 October).

There are:

  • 4,568 cases in Ryedale (up 46) – 483.6 case rate per 100K
  • 11,232 in Selby (up 42) – 554
  • 19,271 in Harrogate (up 150) – 720.5
  • 9,519 in Hambleton (up 73) – 403.6
  • 12,431 in Scarborough (up 50) – 453.4
  • 5,548 in Richmondshire (up 25) – 284.7
  • 6,401 in Craven (up 42) – 525.

There were three coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That takes the total to 668 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were two coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 10 October, and 38 in the previous seven days (no change).
