Tuesday update: Four areas of York now have too few coronavirus cases to count
There were another 13 Covid cases confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 1 December).
That takes the cumulative total to 5,659 – giving an overall infection rate of 2,686.9 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days there have been 141 positive Covid-19 tests in York – a decrease of 118 (45.6%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 83.1 new cases per 100,000 people (175 cases in the week to 27 November). That’s down from 132.0 in the previous seven days (278 cases in the week to 20 November).
At the University of York, there were 41 individuals self isolating due to a positive Covid-19 test today. Since the previous update on Monday it has been notified of no new cases.
At York St John University, there were seven people self isolating due to a positive test on Monday.

In North Yorkshire, there were 85 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 13,356 – an infection rate of 2,161 cases per 100K.
There are 734 cases in Ryedale (up two), 2,121 in Selby (up 17), 3,590 in Harrogate (up 18), 1,717 in Hambleton (up nine), 2,890 in Scarborough (up 15), 983 in Richmondshire (up six) and 1,321 in Craven (up 18).
There were three more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today. We don’t know whether they were at York Hospital or Scarborough.
It takes the total to 306.
