Tuesday update: Five more coronavirus deaths confirmed in York

Another 411 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 1 February).

That takes the cumulative case total to 50,461 – giving an overall infection rate of 23,913.8 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 4,643 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 2,670 (135.3%) week on week (this includes a large number added for multiple infections on Monday).

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 1,139.7 new cases per 100,000 people (2,405 cases in the week to 28 January).

The English national average is 1,096.3, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 1,060.4.

There were five coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and eight in the last seven days (as at 1 February).
