Tuesday update: Another two coronavirus deaths in the York NHS Trust

A further 71 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 10 August).

That takes the cumulative case total to 18,244 – giving an overall infection rate of 8,646 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 722 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 162 (28.9%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 334.7 new cases per 100,000 people (705 cases in the week to 6 August). That’s up from 252.1 in the previous seven days (531 cases in the week to 30 July).

The English national average is 291.9, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 370.8.

There were two coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and three in the last seven days (as at 10 August).

There were two coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That takes the total to 608 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were three coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 1 August, and 29 in the previous seven days (down five).
