Tuesday update: Another coronavirus death confirmed in York

Another 68 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 5 October).

That takes the cumulative case total to 22,518 – giving an overall infection rate of 10,671.4 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 503 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 6 (1.2%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 239.8 new cases per 100,000 people (506 cases).

The English national average is 337.6, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 419.1.

There was one coronavirus death in the City of York Council area reported today, and four in the last seven days (as at 5 October).

There were two coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That takes the total to 656 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were four coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 26 September, and 31 in the previous seven days (down nine).
