Tuesday update: 91 new coronavirus cases confirmed in York

Another 91 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 31 August).

That takes the cumulative case total to 20,146 – giving an overall infection rate of 9,547.3 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 562 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 102 (-15.4%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 271.5 new cases per 100,000 people (573 cases).

The English national average is 315.2, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 349.3.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and two in the last seven days (as at 31 August).

In North Yorkshire, there were 265 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 50,925 – an infection rate of 8,205.6 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 3,263 cases in Ryedale (up 22) – 332.6 case rate per 100K
  • 8,530 in Selby (up 39) – 358.8
  • 13,365 in Harrogate (up 82) – 303.9
  • 7,238 in Hambleton (up 44) – 246.9
  • 9,209 in Scarborough (up 46) – 324.6
  • 4,478 in Richmondshire (up 13) – 268
  • 4,842 in Craven (up 19) – 355.8.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 625 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were five coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 22 August, and 43 in the previous seven days (up 18).
