Tuesday update: 11 more Covid related deaths in York NHS Trust hospitals

Another 90 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 19 January).

It takes the cumulative total to 10,232 – giving an overall infection rate of 4,858.1 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 839 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – a decrease of 474 (-36.1%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 450.6 new cases per 100,000 people (949 cases in the week to 15 January). That’s down from 671.8 in the previous seven days (1,415 cases in the week to 7 January).

The English national average is 506.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 262.6.

There have been six more coronavirus-related deaths in the York council area, and 25 in the last seven days (up 10 / 66.7%).

In North Yorkshire, there were 233 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 23,735  – an infection rate of 3,840.3 cases per 100K.

There are 1,488 cases in Ryedale (up 36), 3,766 in Selby (up 34), 6,084 in Harrogate (up 72), 3,302 in Hambleton (up 32), 4,771 in Scarborough (up 24), 2,016 in Richmondshire (up 17) and 2,308 in Craven (up 18).

There were 11 more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

That takes the total to 434 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
