Thursday update: Two more coronavirus deaths in York

Another 103 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 12 August).

That takes the cumulative case total to 18,459 – giving an overall infection rate of 8,747.8 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 687 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 55 (8.7%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 347.1 new cases per 100,000 people (731 cases in the week to 8 August). That’s up from 261.6 in the previous seven days (551 cases in the week to 1 August).

The English national average is 299.2, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 377.5.

There were two coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and five in the last seven days (as at 12 August).

There was one coronavirus-related death reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That takes the total to 610 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There was one coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 8 August, and 18 in the previous seven days (down 11).
