Thursday update: Ten more coronavirus deaths in York NHS Trust

A further 92 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 21 January).

It takes the cumulative total to 10,466 – giving an overall infection rate of 4,969.2 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 744 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – a decrease of 456 (-38%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 407.8 new cases per 100,000 people (859 cases in the week to 17 January). That’s down from 603.5 in the previous seven days (1,271 cases in the week to 10 January).

The English national average is 484, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 257.3`.

There have been seven more coronavirus-related deaths in the York council area, and 27 in the last seven days (up eight / 42.1%).

In North Yorkshire, there were 216 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 24,221  – an infection rate of 3,918.9 cases per 100K.

There are 1,518 cases in Ryedale (up 11), 3,846 in Selby (up 38), 6,223 in Harrogate (up 60), 3,385 in Hambleton (up 37), 4,811 in Scarborough (up 15), 2,068 in Richmondshire (up 29) and 2,370 in Craven (up 26).

There were ten more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

That takes the total to 451 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
