Thursday update: No new coronavirus figures available

For the second time in a week, the Public Health England coronavirus dashboard has not been updated.

It means we can’t bring you the latest figures for cases in York and North Yorkshire.

However, we can tell you that the national death toll has been revised downwards after the governments of the UK nations agreed to use the same standard for counting Covid-19 related fatalities.

Today (Thursday, 13 August), 41,347 people have died in the UK within 28 days of testing positive for coronavirus.

Yesterday we reported the figures using the previous counting method which put the total at 46,706.

There were no more coronavirus related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust reported today – the total remains at 214. The last death recorded within the trust was on 18 June.

The total includes 134 in York Hospital and 80 in Scarborough.
