Thursday update: More than 680 coronavirus cases confirmed in York and North Yorkshire

A further 110 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 14 October).

That takes the cumulative case total to 23,279 – giving an overall infection rate of 11,032.1 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 612 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 142 (30.2%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 268.7 new cases per 100,000 people (567 cases in the week to 10 October). That’s up from 232.7 in the previous seven days (491 cases in the week to 3 October).

The English national average is 376.1, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 452.3.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and none in the last seven days (as at 14 October).

In North Yorkshire, there were 572 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 66,731 – an infection rate of 10,752.5 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 4,355 cases in Ryedale (up 44) – 382.9 case rate per 100K
  • 10,933 in Selby (up 94) – 488.6
  • 18,474 in Harrogate (up 202) – 650.6
  • 9,244 in Hambleton (up 49) – 333.9
  • 12,109 in Scarborough (up 104) – 458
  • 5,443 in Richmondshire (up 19) – 281
  • 6,173 in Craven (up 60) – 526.7.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 657 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were eight coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 3 October, and 38 in the previous seven days (up seven).
