Thursday update: Another 612 coronavirus cases confirmed in York and North Yorkshire

Another 138 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 4 November).

That takes the cumulative case total to 25,915 – giving an overall infection rate of 12,281.3 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 929 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 53 (6.1%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 442.2 new cases per 100,000 people (933 cases in the week to 31 October). That’s down from 446.9 in the previous seven days (943 cases in the week to 24 October).

The English national average is 412.7, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 422.4.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and two in the last seven days (as at 4 November).

In North Yorkshire, there were 474 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 76,302 – an infection rate of 12,294.7 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 5,276 cases in Ryedale (up 40) – 514.1 case rate per 100K
  • 12,296 in Selby (up 64) – 456.9
  • 21,367 in Harrogate (up 151) – 581.9
  • 10,502 in Hambleton (up 55) – 479.7
  • 13,714 in Scarborough (up 99) – 512.2
  • 6,068 in Richmondshire (up 27) – 450.4
  • 7,079 in Craven (up 38) – 456.9.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 684 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were eight coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 31 October, and 78 patients in hospital on 2 November.
