Thursday update: Another 292 coronavirus cases confirmed in York

Another 292 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 17 March).

That takes the cumulative case total to 57,970 – giving an overall infection rate of 27,472.4 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 1,666 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 499 (42.8%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 668.2 new cases per 100,000 people (1,410 cases in the week to 13 March). It was 625.1 yesterday.

The English national average is 617.2, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 437.3.

There have been three coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days (up three).
