Thursday update: Another 151 coronavirus cases confirmed in York

Another 151 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 21 October).

That takes the cumulative case total to 24,110 – giving an overall infection rate of 11,425.9 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 790 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 214 (37.2%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 339.3 new cases per 100,000 people (716 cases in the week to 17 October). That’s up from 269.7 in the previous seven days (569 cases in the week to 10 October).

The English national average is 455.7, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 491.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and four in the last seven days (as at 21 October).

  • 9,659 in Hambleton (up 71) – 419.9

  • 5,618 in Richmondshire (up 39) – 294.1
  • 6,514 in Craven (up 62) – 538.9.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 668 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were two coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 10 October, and 38 in the previous seven days (no change).
