Thursday update: 91 new coronavirus cases in York

Another 91 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 29 July).

That takes the cumulative case total to 17,140 – giving an overall infection rate of 8,138 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 506 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 407 (-44.6%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 261.1 new cases per 100,000 people (550 cases in the week to 25 July). That’s down from 487.6 in the previous seven days (1,027 cases in the week to 18 July).

The English national average is 375.2, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 451.3.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and none in the last seven days (as at 29 July).

In North Yorkshire, there were 276 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 42,621 – an infection rate of 6,896 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 2,515 cases in Ryedale (up 15) – case rate 234.7 per 100K
  • 7,154 in Selby (up 40) – 396.2
  • 11,087 in Harrogate (up 79) – 353.2
  • 6,214 in Hambleton (up 38) – 443.3
  • 7,734 in Scarborough (up 66) – 399.1
  • 3,796 in Richmondshire (up 16) – 355.5
  • 4,105 in Craven (up 22) – 439.3.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 601 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death was reported on 21 July.

There were five coronavirus patients admitted to the trust on 25 July, and 34 in the previous seven days (up four).
