Thursday update: 732 new coronavirus cases confirmed across York and North Yorkshire

Another 161 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 11 November).

That takes the cumulative case total to 26,738 – giving an overall infection rate of 12,671.3 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 823 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 106 (11.4%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 368.2 new cases per 100,000 people (777 cases in the week to 7 November). That’s down from 442.6 in the previous seven days (934 cases in the week to 31 October).

The English national average is 346.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 357.8.

There was one coronavirus death in the City of York Council area reported today, and four in the last seven days (as at 11 November).

In North Yorkshire, there were 571 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 79,005 – an infection rate of 12,730.2 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 5,499 cases in Ryedale (up 52) – 422.4 case rate per 100K
  • 12,772 in Selby (up 99) – 455.8
  • 22,134 in Harrogate (up 177) – 474.2
  • 10,833 in Hambleton (up 70) – 337.2
  • 14,245 in Scarborough (up 111) – 468.1
  • 6,239 in Richmondshire (up 24) – 355.5
  • 7,283 in Craven (up 38) – 368.

Due to a technical fault, the NHS was unable to publish an update of coronavirus deaths in hospitals today.

There were eight coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 31 October, and 78 patients in hospital on 2 November.
