Thursday update: 66 more coronavirus cases confirmed in York

A further 66 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 9 September).

That takes the cumulative case total to 20,821 – giving an overall infection rate of 9,867.2 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last a days 498 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 77 (-13.4%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 253.1 new cases per 100,000 people (534 cases in the week to 5 September). That’s down from 262.5 in the previous seven days (554 cases in the week to 29 August).

The English national average is 330.7, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 380.8.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and two in the last seven days (as at 9 September).

In North Yorkshire, there were 362 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 53,906 – an infection rate of 8,686 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 9,013 in Selby (up 47) – 412.2
  • 14,292 in Harrogate (up 126) – 402.4
  • 7,601 in Hambleton (up 45) – 294.8
  • 9,733 in Scarborough (up 73) – 373.4
  • 4,703 in Richmondshire (up 31) – 271.7
  • 5,062 in Craven (up 18) – 317.4.

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 636 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).

There were four coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 5 September, and 42 in the previous seven days (up 11).
