Thursday update: 18 more coronavirus patients in York trust hospitals

Another 309 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 20 January).

That takes the cumulative case total to 44,472 – giving an overall infection rate of 21,075.6 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 1,893 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 982 (-34.2%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 845.9 new cases per 100,000 people (1,785 cases in the week to 16 January).

The English national average is 967.4, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 1,117.9.

There was one coronavirus death in the City of York Council area reported today, and four in the last seven days (as at 20 January).
