Thursday update: 16 more coronavirus cases confirmed in York

There were a further 16 coronavirus cases confirmed in York today (Thursday, 10 December).
That takes the cumulative total to 5,831 – giving an overall infection rate of 2,768.5 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days there have been 136 positive Covid-19 tests in York – an increase of 17 (14.3%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 64.1 new cases per 100,000 people (135 cases in the week to 6 December). That’s down from 69.3 in the previous seven days (146 cases in the week to 29 November).
At the University of York, there were 11 individuals self isolating due to a positive Covid-19 test today. Since the previous update on Wednesday it has been notified of one new case.
At York St John University, there was one person self isolating due to a positive test on Wednesday.

In North Yorkshire, there were 208 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 14,204 – an infection rate of 2,281.2 cases per 100K.
There are 784 cases in Ryedale (up three), 2,252 in Selby (up 24), 3,782 in Harrogate (up 21), 1,785 in Hambleton (up four), 3,140 in Scarborough (up 35), 1,047 in Richmondshire (up five) and 1,414 in Craven (up 13).
There were three more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today. We don’t know whether they were at York or Scarborough Hospitals.
That takes the total to 324 across the trust.
