Another 41 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 17 June).
That takes the cumulative case total to 12,716 – giving an overall infection rate of 6,037.5 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days 179 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 81 (82.7%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 74.1 new cases per 100,000 people (156 cases in the week to 13 June). That’s up from 30.9 in the previous seven days (65 cases in the week to 6 June).
The English national average is 75.2, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 81.8.
There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and five in the last seven days (as at 17 June).

In North Yorkshire, there were 84 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 30,856 – an infection rate of 5,006 cases per 100K.
There are 1,927 cases in Ryedale (up six), 5,391 in Selby (up 22), 7,970 in Harrogate (up 19), 4,312 in Hambleton (up nine), 5,683 in Scarborough (up six), 2,707 in Richmondshire (up 13) and 2,950 in Craven (up nine).
There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.
That leaves the total at 593 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death was reported on 15 June.
There was one coronavirus patient admitted to the trust on 13 June, and three in the previous seven days.
