Sunday update: York records more than 1,000 new coronavirus cases in a week

Another 146 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Sunday, 3 January).
It takes the cumulative total to 7,718 – giving an overall infection rate of 3,664.5 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days there have been 1,050 positive Covid-19 tests in York – an increase of 501 (91.3%) week on week.
The latest validated data shows a coronavirus rate in York of 321.9 in the seven days to 28 December.

In North Yorkshire, there were 287 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 18,491 – an infection rate of 2,991.8 cases per 100K.
There are 1,112 cases in Ryedale (up 22), 2,874 in Selby (up 25), 4,647 in Harrogate (up 72), 2,471 in Hambleton (up 56), 4,118 in Scarborough (up 36), 1,480 in Richmondshire (up 40) and 1,789 in Craven (up 36).
There were four more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.
That takes the total to 380 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
