Sunday update: Seven more coronavirus cases in York

There were another seven coronavirus confirmed in York today (Sunday, 16 May).

That takes the cumulative total to 12,349 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,863.2 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 35 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up one (2.9%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 18 new cases per 100,000 people.

The English national average is 23.6, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 40.4.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days.

In North Yorkshire, there were 16 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 30,173  – an infection rate of 4,881.9 cases per 100K.

There are 1,900 cases in Ryedale (no change), 5,197 in Selby (up nine), 7,739 in Harrogate (up five), 4,228 in Hambleton (no change), 5,610 in Scarborough (up one), 2,650 in Richmondshire (up one) and 2,849 in Craven (no change).

We have no update for coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

The total on Friday was 591 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death reported at the trust was on 21 April.
