Sunday update: Rise in York coronavirus cases slows

Another 111 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Sunday, 11 July).

That takes the cumulative case total to 15,126 – giving an overall infection rate of 7,181.7 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 849 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 31 (-3.5%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 405.5 new cases per 100,000 people. The English national average is 301.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 389.8.

As of Friday 9 July, the University of York had 110 individuals who were currently self-isolating because they have had a positive Covid-19 test (down from 240 the week before).

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and one in the last seven days (as at 11 July).

In North Yorkshire, there were 333 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 35,695 – an infection rate of 5,775.4 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 2,155 cases in Ryedale (up 13) – case rate 160.7 per 100K
  • 6,174 in Selby (up 48) – 347.6
  • 9,418 in Harrogate (up 107) – 378.7
  • 5,021 in Hambleton (up 48) – 318.8
  • 6,377 in Scarborough (up 68) – 209.6
  • 3,177 in Richmondshire (up 23) – 277.3
  • 3,373 in Craven (up 26) – 238.

At weekends, NHS England does not report the number of Covid hospital deaths.

There were six coronavirus patients admitted to the trust on 4 July, and 13 in the previous seven days (up six).
