Sunday update: More coronavirus cases confirmed in York and North Yorkshire

There were two more coronavirus cases confirmed in York today (Sunday, 23 August).

That takes the cumulative total in the city to 949 – a cumulative infection rate of 450.6 cases per 100,000 people.

In North Yorkshire there were three new cases confirmed today, taking the total to 2,684 – an infection rate of 434.3 cases per 100K.

There are 141 cases in Ryedale (no change), 332 in Selby (no change), 762 in Harrogate (up two), 323 in Hambleton (no change), 569 in Scarborough (no change), 283 in Richmondshire (no change) and 274 in Craven (up one).

There were no more coronavirus related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust reported today – the total remains at 214. The last death recorded within the trust was on 18 June.

The total includes 134 in York Hospital and 80 in Scarborough.
