Sunday update: Four areas of York now have 40-plus coronavirus cases

A further 78 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Sunday, 27 June).

That takes the cumulative case total to 13,397 – giving an overall infection rate of 6,360.8 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 544 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 299 (122%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 195.1 new cases per 100,000 people (411 cases in the week to 22 June).

The English national average is 119.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 142.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and none in the last seven days (as at 27 June).

In North Yorkshire, there were 112 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 32,011 – an infection rate of 5,179.3 cases per 100K.

There are 1,977 cases in Ryedale (up three), 5,598 in Selby (up 16), 8,273 in Harrogate (up 20), 4,416 in Hambleton (up 17), 5,829 in Scarborough (up 32), 2,841 in Richmondshire (up 16) and 3,077 in Craven (up eight).

NHS England no longer issues information about hospital deaths at weekends.

There was one coronavirus patient admitted to the trust on 20 June, and six in the previous seven days (up three).
