Sunday update: Another 131 coronavirus cases confirmed in York

There were 131 more coronavirus cases confirmed in York today (Sunday, 18 October).

That takes the cumulative total to 2,686 – giving an overall infection rate of 1,275.3 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days there have been 654 positive Covid-19 tests in York – which is up by 129 (24.6%).

In North Yorkshire, there were 129 new confirmed Covid-19 cases today, taking the cumulative total to 5,853 – an infection rate of 947 cases per 100K.

There are 335 cases in Ryedale (up 12), 861 in Selby (up 23), 1,692 in Harrogate (up 55), 765 in Hambleton (up 16), 1,026 in Scarborough (up eight), 514 in Richmondshire (up five) and 660 in Craven (up ten).

There have been no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 223. At the weekends, we are unable to report whether these occurred at York or Scarborough Hospitals.
