Sunday update: A 50% increase in positive coronavirus tests in York

There were 49 coronavirus cases confirmed in York today (Sunday, 20 December).

It takes the cumulative total to 6,119 – giving an overall infection rate of 2,905.3 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days there have been 220 positive Covid-19 tests in York – an increase of 74 (50.7%) week on week.

The latest validated data shows a coronavirus rate in York of 69.8 in the seven days to 14 December.

In North Yorkshire, there were 113 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 15,198 – an infection rate of 2,459 cases per 100K.

There are 842 cases in Ryedale (up 11), 2,410 in Selby (up 20), 3,967 in Harrogate (up 13), 1,872 in Hambleton (up ten), 3,475 in Scarborough (up 33), 1,130 in Richmondshire (up ten) and 1,502 in Craven (up 16).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 345 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
