Sunday update: 79 new coronavirus cases in York
Another 79 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Sunday, 1 August).
That takes the cumulative case total to 17,375 – giving an overall infection rate of 8,249.5 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days 535 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 126 (-19.1%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 243.6 new cases per 100,000 people (513 cases in the week to 28 July).
The English national average is 305.1, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 368.9.
There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and none in the last seven days (as at 1 August).

- 4,162 in Craven (up 12) – 304.5.
At weekends, NHS England no longer reports coronavirus deaths in hospitals.
There were five coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 25 July, and 34 in the previous seven days (up four).
