Sunday update: 16 more coronavirus cases in York

There were another 16 coronavirus cases confirmed in York today (Sunday, 6 December).

That takes the cumulative total to 5,753 – giving an overall infection rate of 2,731.5 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days there have been 121 positive Covid-19 tests in York – a decrease of 59 (32.8%) week on week.

The latest validated data shows a coronavirus rate in York of 64.1 in the seven days to 28 November.

In North Yorkshire, there were 84 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 13,859 – an infection rate of 2,242.4 cases per 100K.

There are 764 cases in Ryedale (up six), 2,186 in Selby (up 13), 3,704 in Harrogate (up 16), 1,764 in Hambleton (up ten), 3,044 in Scarborough (up 27), 1,024 in Richmondshire (up three) and 1,373 in Craven (up nine).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 313.
