Sunday update: 128 new coronavirus cases in York

Another 128 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Sunday, 4 July).

That takes the cumulative case total to 14,277 – giving an overall infection rate of 6,778.6 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 880 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 336 (61.8%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 383.6 new cases per 100,000 people (808 cases in the week to 30 June).

The English national average is 208, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 263.3.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and none in the last seven days (as at 4 July).

In North Yorkshire, there were 234 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 33,571 – an infection rate of 5,431.7 cases per 100K.

There are

  • 2,064 cases in Ryedale (up five) – case rate 139 per 100K
  • 5,850 in Selby (up 63) – 208.6
  • 8,773 in Harrogate (up 71) – 220.1
  • 4,621 in Hambleton (up 14) – 174.7
  • 6,042 in Scarborough (up 26) – 214.2
  • 2,990 in Richmondshire (up 24) – 269.9
  • 3,231 in Craven (up 31) – 229.3.

NHS England doesn’t issue updates for deaths in hospital on weekends.

There were no coronavirus patients admitted to the trust on 27 June, and seven in the previous seven days (up one).
