Sunday update: 120 new coronavirus cases confirmed in York

Another 120 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Sunday, 17 October).

That takes the cumulative case total to 23,612 – giving an overall infection rate of 11,189.9 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 689 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 156 (29.3%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 293.8 new cases per 100,000 people.

The English national average is 410.3, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 482.7.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and three in the last seven days (as at 17 October).

  • 11,140 in Selby (up 67) – 555.1
  • 18,974 in Harrogate (up 174) – 684.6
  • 9,403 in Hambleton (up 49) – 375.3

  • 5,496 in Richmondshire (up 23) – 297.8

The NHS doesn’t release figures for coronavirus-related deaths in trust hospitals at weekends.

There were two coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 10 October, and 38 in the previous seven days (no change).
