Saturday update: Three coronavirus cases confirmed in York

Another three coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 15 May).

That takes the cumulative total to 12,342 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,859.9 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 33 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up two (6.5%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 16.6 new cases per 100,000 people.

The English national average is 24.3, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 41.8.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days.

In North Yorkshire, there were 19 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 30,157  – an infection rate of 4,879.3 cases per 100K.

There are 1,900 cases in Ryedale (no change), 5,188 in Selby (up eight), 7,734 in Harrogate (up five), 4,228 in Hambleton (up three), 5,609 in Scarborough (up one), 2,649 in Richmondshire (up one) and 2,849 in Craven (up one).

We have no update for coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

The total yesterday was at 591 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death reported at the trust was on 21 April.
