Saturday update: Three areas of York now have coronavirus case rates above 800

Another 107 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 20 November).

That takes the cumulative case total to 27,889 – giving an overall infection rate of 13,216.8 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 918 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 84 (10.1%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 445.9 new cases per 100,000 people (941 cases in the week to 16 November).

The English national average is 403.2, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 383.3.

There was one coronavirus death in the City of York Council area reported today, and two in the last seven days (as at 20 November).

In North Yorkshire, there were 487 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 83,184 – an infection rate of 13,403.6 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 5,910 cases in Ryedale (up 49) – 553.7 case rate per 100K
  • 13,538 in Selby (up 83) – 679.4
  • 23,240 in Harrogate (up 124) – 572
  • 11,413 in Hambleton (up 71) – 450.3
  • 14,987 in Scarborough (up 69) – 562.8
  • 6,608 in Richmondshire (up 64) – 448.5
  • 7,488 in Craven (up 27) – 284.3.

At weekends, NHS England does not issue updates on coronavirus-related deaths at trust hospitals.

There were three coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 14 November, and 72 patients in hospital on 16 November. In the previous seven days, 48 Covid patients were admitted – up 13.
