Saturday update: There have now been more than 15,000 coronavirus cases in York

Another 102 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 10 July).

That takes the cumulative case total to 15,015 – giving an overall infection rate of 7,129 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 866 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 36 (4.3%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 396 new cases per 100,000 people. The English national average is 286.6, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 367.5.

As of Friday 9 July, the University of York had 110 individuals who were currently self-isolating because they have had a positive Covid-19 test (down from 240 the week before).

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and one in the last seven days (as at 10 July).

In North Yorkshire, there were 295 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 35,362 – an infection rate of 5,721.5 cases per 100K.

There are:

  • 2,142 cases in Ryedale (up 10) – case rate 169.7 per 100K
  • 6,126 in Selby (up 31) – 339.9
  • 9,311 in Harrogate (up 86) – 359.4
  • 4,973 in Hambleton (up 78) – 283.9
  • 6,309 in Scarborough (up 40) – 209.6
  • 3,154 in Richmondshire (up 24) – 279.2
  • 3,347 in Craven (up 26) – 236.3.

At weekends, NHS England does not report the number of Covid hospital deaths.

There were six coronavirus patients admitted to the trust on 4 July, and 13 in the previous seven days (up six).
