Saturday update: More than 100 coronavirus patients in York NHS Trust hospitals
Another 176 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 9 January).
It takes the cumulative total to 8,901 – giving an overall infection rate of 4,226.1 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days there have been 1,329 positive Covid-19 tests in York – an increase of 371 (38.7%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 626.3 new cases per 100,000 people (1,319 cases in the week to 4 January).

In North Yorkshire, there were 316 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 20,876 – an infection rate of 3,377.7 cases per 100K.
There are 1,246 cases in Ryedale (up 32), 3,294 in Selby (up 36), 5,346 in Harrogate (up 110), 2,823 in Hambleton (up 41), 4,438 in Scarborough (up 46), 1,698 in Richmondshire (up 26) and 2,031 in Craven (up 25).
There was one more coronavirus-related death reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.
That takes the total to 393 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
Fifteen coronavirus patients were admitted to the two York Trust hospitals today, and there are 111 Covid-19 patients in hospital, with seven on ventilation.
