Saturday update: More areas of York have practically no coronavirus cases

There were another 27 coronavirus cases confirmed in York today (Saturday, 5 December).

That takes the cumulative total to 5,737 – giving an overall infection rate of 2,723.9 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days there have been 125 positive Covid-19 tests in York – a decrease of 75 (37.5%) week on week.

The latest validated data shows a coronavirus rate in York of 68.4 in the seven days to 29 November.

In North Yorkshire, there were 82 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 13,775 – an infection rate of 2,228.8 cases per 100K.

There are 758 cases in Ryedale (up eight), 2,173 in Selby (up 10), 3,688 in Harrogate (up 21), 1,754 in Hambleton (up six), 3,017 in Scarborough (up 22), 1,021 in Richmondshire (up eight) and 1,364 in Craven (up seven).

There were two more coronavirus-related death reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today. We don’t know whether they were at York Hospital or Scarborough.

It takes the total to 313.
