Saturday update: Just one area of York now has a coronavirus case rate above 400

Another 66 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 4 September).

That takes the cumulative case total to 20,467 – giving an overall infection rate of 9,699.4 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 546 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 26 (-4.5%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 258.3 new cases per 100,000 people (545 cases).

The English national average is 293.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 332.5.

There was one coronavirus death in the City of York Council area reported today, and five in the last seven days (as at 4 September).

  • 9,432 in Scarborough (up 54) – 321.9
  • 4,566 in Richmondshire (up 22) – 228.9

There were eight coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 29 August, and 31 in the previous seven days (down 12).
