Saturday update: Just one area of York has coronavirus cases in double figures

Another eight coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 20 March).

That takes the cumulative total to 12,107 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,748.3 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 59 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 47 (-44.3%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 33.2 new cases per 100,000 people.

The English national average is 58.1, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 110.2.

There have been no more coronavirus-related deaths in the York council area today, and three in the last seven days (up one / 50%).

In North Yorkshire, there were 36 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 28,864  – an infection rate of 4,670.1 cases per 100K.

There are 1,842 cases in Ryedale (up four), 4,711 in Selby (up five), 7,507 in Harrogate (up ten), 4,134 in Hambleton (up two), 5,394 in Scarborough (up 11), 2,566 in Richmondshire (up two) and 2,710 in Craven (up two).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 583 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
