Saturday update: 77 more coronavirus cases in York

A further 77 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 23 January).

It takes the cumulative total to 10,619 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,041.8 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 673 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – a decrease of 372 (-35.6%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 375.6 new cases per 100,000 people.

The English national average is 453.6, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 249.9.

There have been three more coronavirus-related deaths in the York council area, and 28 in the last seven days (up seven / 33.3%).

In North Yorkshire, there were 183 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 24,578  – an infection rate of 3,976.7 cases per 100K.

There are 1,543 cases in Ryedale (up 15), 3,913 in Selby (up 40), 6,321 in Harrogate (up 53), 3,456 in Hambleton (up 27), 4,852 in Scarborough (up 13), 2,102 in Richmondshire (up 23) and 2,391 in Craven (up 12).

There were two more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

That takes the total to 457 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
