Saturday update: 57 new coronavirus cases in York and North Yorkshire

Another 14 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 5 June).

That takes the cumulative total to 12,463 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,917.3 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 63 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 17 (37.0%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 26.1 new cases per 100,000 people.

The English national average is 34.5, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 39.5.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days.

In North Yorkshire, there were 43 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 30,401 – an infection rate of 4,918.8 cases per 100K.

There are 1,897 cases in Ryedale (no change), 5,261 in Selby (up eight), 7,805 in Harrogate (up 15), 4,264 in Hambleton (up ten), 5,647 in Scarborough (up three), 2,660 in Richmondshire (up three) and 2,867 in Craven (up four).

The York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust no long issues updates about coronavirus deaths at weekends.

There was one coronavirus patient admitted to the trust on 30 May, and two in the previous seven days.
