Saturday update: 337 new coronavirus cases confirmed in York and North Yorkshire

A further 99 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 28 August).

That takes the cumulative case total to 19,921 – giving an overall infection rate of 9,440.7 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 572 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 121 (-17.5%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 306.6 new cases per 100,000 people (647 cases).

The English national average is 331.2, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 357.9.

There were no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and three in the last seven days (as at 28 August).

  • 13,126 in Harrogate (up 55) – 316.9

At weekends, the NHS doesn’t issue figures for coronavirus deaths in hospital trusts.

There were five coronavirus patients admitted to the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust trust on 22 August, and 43 in the previous seven days (up 18).
