Saturday update: 168 new coronavirus cases in York – and nearly 400 in North Yorkshire
A further 168 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 2 January).
It takes the cumulative total to 7,572 – giving an overall infection rate of 3,595.1 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days there have been 958 positive Covid-19 tests in York – an increase of 414 (76.1%) week on week.
The latest validated data shows a coronavirus rate in York of 297.7 in the seven days to 27 December.

In North Yorkshire, there were 391 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 18,204 – an infection rate of 2,945.4 cases per 100K.
There are 1,090 cases in Ryedale (up 33), 2,849 in Selby (up 68), 4,575 in Harrogate (up 95), 2,415 in Hambleton (up 37), 4,082 in Scarborough (up 91), 1,440 in Richmondshire (up 33) and 1,753 in Craven (up 34).
There were two more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.
That takes the total to 376 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
